1. “Her skin was not white but a faint green shade, the color of a duck’s egg and of an unusually transparent tegument. Her veins were vivid green and golden, the nails pale blue. She smelled of violets…” 2. “As Diamond Mouth Surprise would discover, a progress from complexity to simplicity would require a non-human world.” 3. “Time and anguish were abolished. The water broke above their heads, and without having experienced any sense of reversal, they ascended in the middle of a pool in a large grotto filled with aqueous light.” 4. “The science we call crystallography was the most esteemed of all sciences in this subterrestrial country… The greatest aesthetic emotion was aroused by those crystals which transgressed most within the limits of probability.” 5. “The only living creatures there were the aforementioned birds, a species of blind-worm or snake, and an immense beetle, about the size of a tortoise…it was not possible, held the inhabitants, to conceive of a space that was not bound in every direction by solids.” 6. “The only beauty that was permanent was the order of the universe as revealed in the structure of natural crystals.” 7. “Diamond Mouth Surprise longed to find her again, to confirm his past impressions. But she seemed to be for ever separated from him. Our life, said the sage, is like a cloud that rises from the earth. Everything solidifies: that is the law of the universe.” 8. “The tresses of her hair, floating in the liquid in which they were immersed, spread like a tracery of stone across the still breast of Diamond Mouth Surprise.”

I am currently reading a book by Robert Anton Wilson titled, Cosmic Trigger 1. The book itself is an attempt to put the reader through a process of “deliberately induced brain change”. Within CT-I, Wilson discusses the possibility that Timothy Leary has been receiving extra-terrestrial messages about our species’s future, partially due to his deliberate alchemical mental conditioning. Additionally, Wilson goes as far to state that these messages have been received for centuries by a variety of conduits such as occultist Aleister Crowley and science fiction author Philip K Dick. Wilson believes that depending on your mental conditioning, background, and cultural pressures, these extra-terrestial beings will manifest themselves to you in different forms. Where as some might see the Blessed Virgin Mary ascending with bright light from heaven, others will see spaceships. Some talk to god, and others, to satellites. But let’s get to the point, Bill Gillim of Megafortress has provided me with a mix that reminds me of the controlled sound-loop experiments that Wilson preformed while under a deep meditative state. These experiments lead him to develop the skills necessary to contact the aliens/gods/satellites/microbes sending us messages from Sirius. So put on your headphones, turn off the lights, lie down, hit play on this mix, and try to communicate with the stars.

And thus the angel of spring risen dry and gleaming and bejeweled from the cold river that flowed from the dark heart of the holy mountain handed to Diamond Mouth Surprise her secret spring prayer. She told Diamond Mouth Surprise to revere the loud chant as the quintessence of the essences.
“The essence of things is the earth. The essence of the earth is the water. The essence of the water is the plant. The essence of the plant is the animal and person. The essence of the person is breath and speech. The essence of the speech breath is the hymn. The essence of the hymn is the chant. The essence of the chant is the loud chant. The loud chant underlies the earth the water the plants the animal. It is all that is inhaled. It underlies every exhalation.”
On Friday May 20th join yourself as Diamond Mouth Surprise and chant with you in honor of the angel of spring and her prayer. There will be music to chant over. There will be words to chant with. There will be beautiful pictures to provoke your own loud chant. And there will be extra microphones turned loud enough to get your voice to the heart of the holiest mountain. There the angel of spring waits and listens with her infinite ears.
